Lessons
Yes, it’s true, you can take hurdy gurdy lessons, and I teach them.
Lessons can be online or in person. Tuition is $50 / hour.

I have over 30 years experience teaching private lessons and ensemble classes. I studied music theory, composition and performance at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music and I use this foundation to teach gurdy by enforcing good technique and practice habits. I believe that if you learn how to play correctly then you can play anything you want on the gurdy. It is an instrument that is not limited, it can be anything you want it to be.
If you do not read music, do not worry, I will teach you how. If you have never played an instrument before, do not worry, the gurdy is a good instrument to learn on. If you do not own a gurdy, don’t buy one from Etsy, please either email me or visit gurdyworld.com to read about the Luthiers that make quality instruments. If you can take lessons in person with me, I have instruments available to rent.
Just contact me and I can help you. If you need instrument advice, I can help you with that too.
Another thing to be aware of is that there will be a Hurdy Gurdy Workshop and Retreat starting this Summer 2023 at Geneva Point Center on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough, New Hampshire from August 20-24th with Alison Gowan and Sergio Gonzalez, (and me too). So, if you are interested in really learning intensively, contact me and I can get you signed up for it.
